WHAT IS NEW:

1. Travel funds: Thanks to the National Science Foundation and
the U.S. Naval Academy we now have some travel funds. Graduate
students and Junior Faculty without any other sources of travel
money are particularly encouraged to apply.

2. Correction: Professor Kaltofen's affiliation has been corrected.

3. Posters: In addition to the usual research posters we now encourage
posters on the use of Computer Algebra Systems in the Classroom.

4. Dinner: We want to schedule dinner at the Officer's Club
(5 minutes walk) about one hour after the meeting is over.
Please indicate early interest, so we can negotiate price
and choices, based on the number of participants.

5. Mini-tour: We also plan to provide a walking mini-tour
of the main sites of the Naval Academy for approximately
half of the two-hour lunch break. Again, kindly indicate
interest so we can organize this event properly.

SECOND ANNOUNCEMENT AND CALL FOR POSTERS

   The fifth annual East Coast Computer Algebra Day will be held
   at the U.S. Naval Academy in the beautiful city of Annapolis,
   Maryland, on April 25, 1998.

  The previous such meetings were held at:
   1. Drexel University (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania)
   2. University of Delaware (Newark, Delaware)
   3. IBM Watson Laboratories (Yorktown Heights, New York)
   4. Northeastern University (Boston, Massachusetts)

  The program consists of:
   (a) Invited talks
   (b) Poster sessions
   (c) Math software vendors
   (d) Informal gatherings, beverages, and lunch.
       (and dinner for those who wish to participate.)
